Judging
A panel of judges evaluates each team’s performance.
Rules for the judges on how to judge the Free Round.
Free Rounds will be judged on 3 different categories: Camerawork/Photography, Technical Skill and Overall Artistic Impression.
Each of the judges will have to judge only one aspect of the dive. The judges judging Camera-work will have to be a Video/Photographer (either an camera flyer or a film maker or a professional photographer). The judges judging the technical aspect of the dive will have to be freeflyers able to determine the difficulty level of the team moves and of the team flying. Judges judging the Overall Artistic impression, may be non-skydivers or novices and will look at the dives from a different perspective than a skydiver.
Each category is scored with 10 points maximum and the scores are added together to give a total score for the round and then divided by 3 for average points.
- 1st judge concentrate only on the Camera work and looks for: Composition, Angles, how the light is used, how the background is used, and smoothness of the pictures, Beauty of Photography, movement of the camera flyers.
- 2nd judge concentrate only on the Difficulty Level and Team work and looks for: Precision, Speed curve changing, use of all the body headings, team flying as a piece, technical level of the moves.
- 3rd judge concentrate only on the Overall Artistic Impression and looks for: Aesthetic Feeling, Artistic expression, Excitement, Inspiration, Rhythm and Beauty of Choreography.
Rules for the Judges on how to judge the Compulsory Round.
For the Compulsory Round judges will have to count how many moves the Team totalled within the 45 seconds time work. Each move completed as described, performed following the required order and visible in the video, will count as one point. If a tie occurs judges will look for synchronization in performing the moves, precision and proximity.
