For the Freestyle Event Teams will have to perform one free round. The team is composed of 1 performer and 1 camera-flyer. Team may do as many jumps as they like and will have to give to the judges the best free round of their choice within the date indicated in the schedule of events. Any type of style is allowed. It is possible to compete with 2 teams; once as performer and once as camera person.
Rules for the Free Round
There are no specific rules for the Free Round. Teams are free to perform whatever they like. Only obligation is to be safe at all time and open the parachute by 3000 ft AGL.
Judging
A panel of around 6 judges evaluates each team’s performance.

Free Rounds will be judged on 3 different categories: Camerawork/Photography, Technical Skill and Overall Artistic Impression.
Each of the judges will have to judge only one aspect of the dive. The judges judging Camera-work will have to be Video/Photographer experts (either an expert camera flyer or a film maker or a professional photographer). The judges judging the technical aspect of the dive will have to be freeflyers or freestylers able to determine the difficulty level of the team moves and of the team flying. Judges judging the Overall Artistic impression, may be non-skydivers or novices and will look at the dives from a different perspective than a skydiver.
Each category is scored with 10 points maximum and the scores are added together to give a total score for the round and then divided by the amount of judges per category for average points.
- 1st expert judge concentrate only on the Camera work and looks for: Composition, Angles, how the light is used, how the background is used, smoothness of the pictures, beauty of Photography, composition, movement of the camera flyers.
- 2nd expert judge concentrate only on the Difficulty Level and Team work and looks for: Speed curve changing, use of all the body headings, variety of moves, technical level of the moves.
- 3rd judge concentrate only on the Overall Artistic Impression of the Choreography and looks for: Aesthetic Feeling, Artistic expression, Excitement, Inspiration, Rhythm and Style.
